When your vehicle has a problem or just needs some routine service, you might get a little nervous. Your vehicle's so important to your life in Falconer, you need to get back on the road as soon as possible – with the problem fixed right the first time.If you've ever checked into some of the technician training I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service professionals receive, you may be surprised at how much specialized knowledge and skill goes into diagnosing and repairing a modern car. They are also amazingly reliable: Kudos to the automotive engineers. But the advances come at the price of simplicity. T ... read more

Tire Rotation and Balancing

You can make your vehicle tires last longer with regular tire rotation and wheel balancing.Let's start with tire rotation. In normal driving around Falconer New York, your front tires wear more on the shoulders because they handle much of the cornering forces in turns. Front-wheel drive vehicles have even more force on the front tires. We rotate the tires so that all of the tires do some duty on the front end as well as getting a little break on the back end. That way, all four tires wear more evenly over their life and last longer. For most vehicles in Falconer New York, tires are rotated front to back. Some manufacturers recommend a cross rotational pattern that includes the spare tire, and some high-performance vehicles have different size tires on the front and rear and may even have uni-directional tires that can only be on the left or the right side of the vehicle. Falconer Drivers: Is It Time to Replace Your PCV Valve?

Falconer Drivers: Is It Time to Replace Your PCV Valve?

The crankcase is the lower part of the engine where the crankshaft is housed and where the engine oil lives. The crankshaft is connected to the pistons that power the engine. When you are diving around Falconer, fuel is burned in your vehicle engine, it pushes the pistons down and the crankshaft rotates and sends power to the transmission. Some of the explosive gases from combustion squeeze past the pistons and down into the crankcase. Now this gas is about 70% unburned fuel. If it were allowed to remain in the crankcase, it would contaminate the oil and quickly turn it to sludge. Sludge is like Vaseline and clogs passages in the engine, leading to damage. Also, the pressure build up would blow out seals and gaskets. So in the old days, there was just a hose that vented the crankcase out into the air. Obviously, not good for our air quality in Falconer, New York.Enter the PCV valve. It's a small, one-way valve that lets out the gases from the crankcase and routes them back int ... read more
